I watched the documentary last night called “Forks Over Knives” which really had little to do with silverware placement. It was about some doctors who switched to plant based diets and made some amazing health discoveries.
There’s a problem in it though because the documentary kind of felt like a bit of a fluff piece. I felt more like it was telling me “You had better become a vegan or you will die!”
Look, I get it. Meat has certain properties in which excess levels will definitely lead to serious health concerns. It also has health properties which can be beneficial. Science is not an exact, well, science I suppose. They are constantly making new discoveries on things that we already thought we knew everything about.
Don’t just watch a film and expect that it is definitive proof of anything. Seriously.
If you like to consume meat and meat products, then help yourself “sensibly”. In other words, don’t eat giant steaks every night. Limit your meat consumption, in amount if you are concerned about it and make sure you add more fruits, vegetables, and unprocessed whole grains to your diet. Your body will thank you for it.
If you are a Vegan, and that lifestyle is working great for you, then GREAT! Keep it up! Personally, I just can’t do it myself.
